Custom medical bearings can be used in pumps, centrifuges, respirators, ventilators, X-ray, scanning, robotic surgical equipment and other applications.
The custom semiconductor bearings that Schatz designs and manufactures are used in wafer processing, photolithography, robotics, polishers, dryers and other chip manufacturing applications. They include custom thin section bearings with a high degree of precision.
Custom versions of standard precision bearings can have ABEC 1, 3, 5, or 7 tolerances. They are available for light, extra light, and extremely light duty with medium, metric, or inch-based precision.
Custom thin section bearings are designed for use in tight spaces and hard-to-reach places. They appear thinner than standard ball bearings because their cross-section doesn’t become larger as bore diameter increases.
Custom versions of Schatz’s angular contact bearings are designed to support both radial and axial loads. They work by axially displacing the inner and outer ring raceways relative to each other, which causes the balls to contact the raceways at an angle.
These custom products are single row radial bearings with precision levels less than ABEC 1. Typically, unground bearings have tolerances 10 times greater than those of precision-ground bearings.
